Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka won the US Open tennis tournament on September 7th in New York, dominating American Jessica Pegula (7-5, 7-5) in the 2024 final on the closed-roof Arthur Ashe Court due to the heavy rain. Aryna Sabalenka overcame the pressure in front of her opponent and she won her first US Open and her third Grand Slam title.

After winning the Australian Open in 2023, Sabalenka became the first player to win both major tournaments played in the same season, after Angelique Kerber in 2016.
