Every Woman’s Marathon in Savannah is a unique event that celebrates women and their achievements.
The marathon was organized on November 16, 2024 is a celebration of women and all that they can achieve. The event includes a fair, wellness expo, cooking classes, yoga sessions and a finish line festival.
Participants had the opportunity to affiliate with Team Milk, a community organization that supports female runners, including those running the Every Woman’s Marathon in Savannah, and provides nutrition training and recommendations to the community. The marathon is intended to welcome runners of all levels and body types.

The legendary Katherine Switzer
was present during the first edition of Every Woman’s Marathon in Savannah! She played an important role in the event as an advisor and team captain for Team Milk and 261 Fearless. Kathrine Switzer is a legendary figure in women’s running, known for being the first woman to run Boston Marathon as an official participant.
It’s crucial to see an iconic person involved in promoting running and women’s empowerment.
In the 1960s, women’s sport was not as publicized as it is today.

It was with her initials K V, “Kathrine Virginia” that she used to register for the Boston Marathon. She trained hard for this task. When she won the Boston Marathon with bib 261, she was only 20 years old.
Kathrine Virginia Switzer ensured that the marathon was recognized for women and was also included in the Olympic Games.
Thanks to her sporting virtues and her sneakers, she has greatly contributed to the growth of women’s marathons around the world. Mass craze has freed women from their constraints by allowing them to emulate in other areas.
