- Stellantis and CATL, the Chinese battery manufacturer, announce the construction of a battery factory in Spain worth 4.1 billion euros. This factory will be located in Zaragoza and will have to begin production. It should be able to produce 50 Gigawatt hours (GWh) and power around 700,000 vehicles per day.
This project is an important step for the European automotive industry, which helps reduce its dependence on batteries imported from Asia and strengthen its own production possibility. Additionally, the factory will be 100% carbon-free, in line with Stellantis’ sustainability goals.
